STANDINGS GUIDE

How this matchday snapshot is calculated

Overall, home and away records

Overall counts every completed league match. Home counts only games each club hosted; Away counts only matches played at the opponent's ground.

What P, W, D, L, GF, GA and GD mean

P is played, W wins, D draws, L losses, GF goals scored, GA goals conceded and GD goal difference. A win earns three points and a draw earns one.

Bundesliga tie-breakers

Level clubs are first separated by goal difference and goals scored. Direct aggregate result, direct away goals and total away goals apply once the relevant home-and-away meetings are complete.

Promotion and relegation

Positions 17 and 18 go down automatically. Position 16 enters a two-leg playoff against the third-placed club in Bundesliga 2.

COMMON QUESTIONS

Bundesliga table FAQ

What is the Bundesliga table after Matchday 1?

It is the standings calculated from completed league matches assigned to Matchday 1 and every earlier round. If that round is incomplete, the page labels the table as an in-progress snapshot.

Does the matchday table include postponed games?

A rearranged game is included once its final score is recorded, using the matchday to which the fixture belongs. That means an earlier matchday snapshot can change after a postponed match is played.

Can I compare the home and away table by matchday?

Yes. Choose Overall, Home or Away. Home and away views are analytical splits and do not determine European qualification or relegation.

How are position changes calculated?

The movement column compares each club's rank with the table through the previous matchday. The MD points column shows points gained from matches assigned to the selected round.

How does the Bundesliga separate teams level on points?

The DFL first uses goal difference and goals scored. Once the relevant home-and-away meetings have both been played, direct aggregate result, direct away goals and then all away goals can also apply. Clubs can share a position while the deciding criteria remain level.

Which Bundesliga teams are relegated?

The clubs finishing 17th and 18th are relegated automatically. The club in 16th enters a two-leg playoff against the third-placed club from Bundesliga 2.

Are European qualification places final during the season?

No. The colored European area is a provisional guide because UEFA allocations and the DFB-Pokal winner can affect the final routes into Europe.
